Photographer and editor Eric Etheridge lives in New York but like many of his fellow southerners, he can't quite shake free of the region, its history and its place in American culture.
He has produced a haunting book of photographs of the young men and women arrested in during the summer of 1961 for, among other things, helping southern blacks register to vote. Breach of Peace: Portraits of the 1961 Mississippi Freedom Riders is a photographic documentary and oral history. It's today's HotSpot.
And, of course, it has a website.
